Dawa is Tibetan meaning Moon and also known as Monday’s Child. It is symbolic for the search for wisdom in Buddhism and the crescent moon rests at the bottom of the finial of the Tibetan Buddhist stupa symbolizing the final steps to obtaining enlightenment.)
Thank you for taking an interest in obtaining a Tibetan Mastiff from Dawa. This is a beautiful, ancient and sacred breed. We breed a very limited number of our dogs and do not breed these animals as our livelihood. We put countless hours and thousands of dollars toward each dog to maintain their health, test for genetic diseases and to show our dogs in conformation events. This is our hobby, but our dogs are also our family. We breed these dogs in the hopes of continuing to strengthen the most desirable traits of the breed that are in our TMs. We typically keep a puppy from our litters in an ongoing effort to continue to improve the breed by selecting for type, structure and correct temperament. Most importantly these puppies become a part of our family. All of our puppies are raised by us with love and great care. We seek puppy buyers that will provide forever homes for our dogs and share a deep respect and love for this breed. When you purchase a puppy from us, you will not only be purchasing a companion, but a friendship and life-long relationship with us, the breeders. We promise to our puppy buyers to provide advice and guidance during your experience with your TM. Please do not hesitate to ask questions at any time about the breed, our dogs and us. We expect it!
All of our Tibetan Mastiffs are AKC registered and we register and micro-chip each puppy for the new owners before the puppies go to their new home. Each of our puppies is sold with a written agreement. We take deposits for puppies once our breeding plans for our girls are finalized. Once you have determined and communicated to us that you indeed would like a puppy from one of our upcoming litters, a contract will be sent to you and a deposit required with the signed contract returned to us. Although we do not take deposits until then, we do maintain a waiting list of interested buyers and recommend getting on our list as soon as you are ready.
